Lookout Cay Disney’s new (not private) Island

On June 7th, 2024, Disney offered its first public sailing to its second private port of call, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Disney Cruise Line is creating this new experience in Eleuthera. The destination will create sustainable economic opportunities for Bahamians, protect and sustain the natural beauty of the site, celebrate culture, and help strengthen the community in Eleuthera. Castaway is however a true private island where Lookout Cay is a 700-acre parcel of land on the larger island of Eleuthera.

Discover Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, nestled on the southernmost tip of Eleuthera, where the deep-blue Atlantic Ocean meets the turquoise waters of The Bahamas. All around, the sweeping rooftops and vibrant interiors anchor Guests in the island’s natural beauty so there is no tendering. However, it is an extremely long walk, (especially returning after a day in the sun) and has been reported to be about a half mile long. For disabled guests that feel they can’t do the walk, you can request golf carts to assist. Once you get to the island, the trams take you to the actual location of Lookout Cay, which is about a ten minute drive. This distance from shore is to protect a natural reef area between the dock and the land as much of Disney’s agreement with the Bahamas to use Eleuthera as their private island had to do with environmental protection. Two things to take with you, plenty of water and plenty of sunscreen! If you are traveling with small children a stroller also might be something to consider.

Located at the heart of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point exists our colorful arts and cultural pavilion. Here, special programs and local artists provide Guests with opportunities to learn and celebrate the traditions and natural beauty of The Bahamas.

Sebastian’s Cove

Staffed by specially trained Disney Cruise Line counselors, the kids club at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point offers youngsters a day of fun, and parents the freedom to enjoy a day of relaxation and serenity.

Adult Escapes
Settle into the blissful tranquility of our secluded adults-only beach, Serenity Bay. Take a dip in the warm waters, let your cares melt away and surrender to the calming rhythm of waves lapping against the shore. When hunger strikes, make way to the stylish adult dining area nearby for refreshing sips and island-style bites. For an additional charge, treat yourself to one of the private open-air cabanas for the day.

Set out on a Swashbuckling adventure as you follow the clues on your treasure map.

On this adventure you will…

Meet your guide at The Gathering Tree (located next to the Goombay Cultural Center tram stop) to board your transportation.
Travel approximately 20 minutes to Pirate’s Cove Beach, where kids will kick off their swashbuckling adventure with their own treasure map and unique crew flag.
Explore Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point alongside your child. Armed with your flag and treasure map, set out in search of gear that will transform kids into official pirates of Eleuthera.
Watch as your young buccaneers learn sword skills and how to wield their swords with finesse before claiming their treasure.
Gather around Treasure Island Storytime on Bunkers Hill and listen as your Arawak Indian storyteller transports you into the world of pirate legends, daring adventures and magical treasures.
Witness your child receive a piece of pirate-themed regalia as they move closer to becoming an official pirate of Eleuthera.
Continue to the Pirate’s Surf Shack, a mystical beach shack hidden along the Eleuthera coastline. Here, a message in a bottle awaits. Use your treasure map to follow the clues as you work with the other crews to solve the riddle and uncover a buried treasure brimming with keepsakes and trinkets to bring home.
Board your return transportation to the Goombay Cultural Center tram stop.

Relaxation and endless fun await—snorkel the pristine waters, float above the waves under the shade of an umbrella and take in the natural beauty that surrounds you.

On this adventure you will…

Meet your guide at Turbot Berth. Then take a short walk down to the marina where your catamaran awaits.
Depart the marina and sail 15 to 20 minutes to the scenic Bahama Bank, or a similar site based on weather and sea conditions.
Dive into crystal-clear waters alongside your safety snorkelers. Relax on a floating mat under the shade of an umbrella or snorkel amid underwater life. Water toys are available.
After a little over an hour exploring the wonders below the surface, board your vessel and sail back to Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point—along the way, enjoy a cup of nonalcoholic fruit punch.

Meet your experienced guide at The Gathering Tree by the Goombay Cultural Center Tram Stop and be transported to home base where you will pick up your equipment and receive a safety briefing.
Board a 4-person buggy and embark on an exhilarating adventure through scenic routes and off-road trails. Immersed in breathtaking natural surroundings, enjoy lush vegetation, coastal views and pristine beaches.
During stops along the way your guide will identify any historical and cultural landmarks as you traverse through diverse landscapes, including rolling hills, rocky terrains, and dense forests.
Snap a few pictures or just soak up the ambiance of the area before returning to Bannerman Town.

After exploring 2 snorkel sites, relax on deck and savor a refreshing drink while listening to the soothing strains of Bahamian Calypso music.

Meet your guide at the Turbot Berth. From there, take a short walk down to the marina, where you’ll board your vessel.
Discover a whole new world in the shallow waters of The Bahamas as your snorkel amid schools of tropical fish, remarkable coral reefs and other marine life.
Soak in the picturesque views as your crew ventures out to a second snorkeling site or even a secluded sandbar, where you can enjoy a leisurely swim.
Savor a refreshing drink and relax to the soft sounds of Bahamian Calypso music while you take in the surrounding sights on your return to the marina.

You can start or end your day at Magnroves & Go offering a menu featuring cold brews, specialty coffees, refreshers, Dole Whips, and ice cold draft beer. Additionally, there are restroom facilities around back which is actually a common design at most of the beverage locations around the property.

The trio of True-True BBQ, True-True BBQ Too, and Serenity Bay BBQ are effectively identical in that they offer guests three distinct BBQ lunch buffet locations on the Atlantic Ocean side of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point all serving the same menu. The only point that could be confusing here is that Serenity Bay BBQ is also at Disney’s Castaway Cay. while the venue name is the same, the offerings are completely different with Castaway’s version identical to Cookies BBQ and Cookies Too BBQ.

True-True BBQ is set up with 4 unique food service windows: Beach BBQ Burgers, BB Ribs and Rotisserie Chicken, Chicken and Seafood Rice Bowls, and Flavorful Fish replicated from the center to each side along with satellite beverage and condiment stations and 5 covered seating areas.

Satellite Drink Station, Condiments & Soft Serve Ice Cream

The drink station included Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Fuze Iced Tea Unsweetened, Minute Maid Lemonade Zero Sugar, Vitamin Water Acai-Plueberry-Pomegranate, Water, Sprite, and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar. Condiments included ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and a selection of hot sauces. Additionally, pickles, onions, lettuce, and tomatoes are available on ice over in the burger window.

Beverage Locations

Across the Atlantic Ocean side of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, you will find a plethora of options to wet your whistle.

Sandsational Smoothies, is a similar offering to Castaway Cay’s Summertime Freeze serving up a selection of non-alcoholic frozen delights and specialty drinks. Sandsational Smoothies (22 on the map) is conveniently located near Rush Out Gush Out family water play area with views of the Atlantic Ocean and beyond.

There are three bars which are essentially identical, just placed in various spots in a similar fashion to the BBQ lunch options. Bow & Ribbon Bar, Watering Hole Bar, and Reef & Wreck Bar, which all share the same menu.

The Bow & Ribbon Bar gets it’s name from the shape which is an archery bow and mass (a thin ribbon) of Eleuthera.

Watering Hole Bar is just south of Sandsational Smoothies and the ideal spot to grab a beverage when dining at True-True BBQ.

Reef & Wreck Bar is a spot to grab a frosty beverage after a walk up to the lighthouse on the nature trail, or breaking away the Fun in the Sun Beach Bash at the nearby Play-Play Pavilion. The Reef & Wreck Bar is actual the southernmost venue on Disney Lookout Cay offering stunning views of the coves at the tip of Lighthouse Point.

The Blue Hole Bar is located near Serenity Bay BBQ and is the northernmost venue and only serves those 21 and above due to its location in the Serenity Bay area. The Blue Hole Bar has it’s own distinct menu in addition to the offerings from the standard bar menu found at the previous 3 bars. The bars serve drinks in reusable metal cups and plastic stemmed wine glasses in an effort to reduce waste from disposable plastic and paper cups. Drinks can also be upgraded to the souvenir Disney Cruise Line Pineapple sipper or the Lighthouse Point Sierra Tumbler.

Lighthouse Point Activities for the Kids

Sebastian’s Cove: Children can let their imaginations run wild in an island-themed kids club custom-made for them. This Disney youth club on Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point offers supervised activities, beach parties and games, giving the parent frogs some well-deserved relaxation time. It’s located on the most southern part of Lookout Cay.
- Kids-only dining: After a day of splashing around, young adventurers can refuel in their very own dining area. Here, they can enjoy meals created with their taste buds in mind.
- Water Play Area: Inspired by the “Little Mermaid,” there is a themed splash pad to play and cool off.
Rush Out Gush Out: Beat the heat and splash the day away at this frogciting and colorful family water play area. It’s centrally located next to the Goombay Cultural Center.

Character meet-and-greets: Keep an eye out for Disney characters making appearances on the island. It’s a fun opportunity to take photos and get autographs with the characters dressed in colorful outfits inspired by the local Junkanoo festival! The Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will list the characters and times along with where to meet them.
