North Pole, Alaska

Ever wonder what it feels like to experience Christmas all year round? Welcome to North Pole, Alaska, where the holiday spirit never fades! This charming town, located 15 minutes from Fairbanks, is a festive paradise for anyone who loves the magic of Christmas as much as I do! Streets are lined with candy cane light poles, and Santa Claus Lane, Mistletoe Lane, and Kris Kringle are real places you can visit! This community of 2,700 residents keep the spirit alive even when it’s 80 degrees out in July

We stopped at the towns best known attraction, Santa Claus House. This sprawling store Santa’s Village is the epicenter of holiday cheer where the magic of Christmas never fades, it holds endless aisles of Christmas ornaments and toys, we even saw Santa! The walls are covered with Dear Santa letters from children around the world. Stroll through the magical winter wonderland to shop Santa’s Workshop for unique toys, North Pole apparel, and Alaska gifts, there is something for everyone on your list.

Mrs. Claus has her own bakery with the aroma of freshly baked cookies filling the air, with yummy fudge, and all kinds of Christmas candy, lots of chocolates. She also makes a mean Hot Chocolate.

Located next to the main house, the Antler Academy is where Santa’s reindeer team lives. You can visit the reindeer pen to learn about all their reindeer games as you pet and feed the animals.

At the North Pole Post Office (located on Santa Claus Lane, of course), more than 400,000 pieces of mail arrive annually simply addressed to “Santa Claus, North Pole, Alaska.” Each year, teams of community volunteers work to respond to each letter.

If you’ve misplaced your Christmas spirit or you are like me who can never have enough of it, North Pole should be your destination. As the town’s slogan says, North Pole is “where the spirit of Christmas lives year round.” I just needed a bigger suitcase!

It’s worth saying again that anyone who hasn’t been should have Alaska on their vacation destination list, it’s a very unique experience for nature lovers, adventure seekers, or those looking for breathtaking scenery, it’s got it all. We are happy and grateful for spending time with our great friends and creating even more memories in Alaska.
