Now This is Paradise in Cozumel, Mexico

One of the best parts of cruising for me is the wonderful fun places it takes you to that otherwise you might never discover. When we book a Caribbean cruise we always try to include Cozumel as one of the ports. This is where we found a place called Paradise Beach Club. It’s a short taxi ride from the pier and around $16 fare for 2 people. Try to find 2 more people to share taxi fare.

As soon as you arrive there you are warmly greeted getting out of the cab by happy smiling faces. Last visit we received a big hug from a server who remembered us from a few weeks back!  Most of the staff has been there for a long time and it’s fun to see the family atmosphere and receive such personalized service, they are so happy to see you return and try hard to make it happen!

We do our research and when we see a few big ships in port we make an advance reservation on their website to ensure our admittance, https://paradisebeachcozumel.com/, even though it’s a huge place with plenty of chairs around the big pool and on the beach just steps away, they limit their visitors to ensure great service and a good time for everyone. We also reserve a covered bed for $50 around the pool area. It’s great for shade and a little afternoon relaxation.

You have the option of all inclusive or pay as you go but you can only make advance reservations for all inclusive which we find well worth it. The price was $60 per person, everyone in the party must participate. It is all you can eat and drink and even if you don’t consume alcoholic beverages it’s the way to go, I get the Virgin Pina Coladas and lots of water bottles.

The service is part of what makes this place so special with your own server taking care of you and making sure you are well fed and a drink in hand, heck they will bring 2 at a time one for each hand. While there isn’t a swim up bar they will serve the drinks right to you in the pool. They don’t skimp on the alcohol either and the drink menu has all your favorite beers and wines and fruity drinks like pina colada’s or variety of flavors of margaritas. There is also choice of soft drinks and smoothies and bottled water.

For kids aged 3 to 103 there are fun activities all year round. When visiting during the Summer as well as during school breaks, the most popular place is the beach and the floating water park which is available for an added cost for unlimited fun all day long. For the thrill seeker in you there are additional up-charge opportunities for an array of water sports including parasailing, banana boat rides, and wave runners.

There are lockers and clean rest rooms as well as changing rooms. Of course there is also a gift store to buy souvenirs or pick up something you might have forgotten. On the last trip Ayr picked up a waterproof hat to wear in the pool and also a magnet to add to the fridge. They also have a pharmacy there with good prices on a variety of prescription medicines as well as sun screen, aspirin, and some over the counter medicines.

It’s quieter in the fall and winter when school is in session and it’s not a big party atmosphere like some of the other places we have been to, the music is in the background and not blaring. The pool is huge with complimentary floating mats as well as chairs in the pool. Although the pool is heated when necessary, most days it’s refreshing from the hot Caribbean sun.

One of my favorite ways to relax at Paradise is by getting a massage out in the fresh sea air where the ocean breeze cools you down and tropical sounds surround you. Massage prices start at $30 for 20 minutes of bliss and I find it a great start to my day of fun and sun! There is no need to make a reservation ahead of time, once you arrive head to the massage tent on the beach. The massage therapists will work out a time that is best for you as well as for the type of massage you are looking for. They offer a variety including relaxing, sport, aromatheraphy, as well as simple foot massages. Ahhh…again, truly Paradise!

After your fun day is over and you have to get back to the ship so it doesn’t leave you in Mexico there are cabs waiting at the exit to take you back to the pier. You have to watch the time as the day goes by way too fast then say goodbye to all your new friends and know your next visit to Cozumel you will return here as this is truly such a fun day. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
